12 Holiday Toasts to Share with Loved Ones

Thanksgiving is here, and there’s no better time to show your loved ones how much you appreciate them. I’ve always loved this time of year because it inspires us to reflect on the beauty and blessings in our lives. It’s a time to spend with family and friends, to share delicious food and familiar stories that never get old, and to revel in the gratitude we don’t often enough take the time to express.

Before all the Christmas decorations go up and the search for Christmas gifts starts to gain a sense of urgency, Thanksgiving lets us take a deep breath, fill our bellies and bask in the company of the people who matter most. So as you prepare for the feast, I thought I’d help you prepare a toast to share at the dinner table. Here are 12 heartfelt holiday tributes to share with the people (and pets!) who bring happiness to your life, day in and day out, all year long:

1. To your sister:

Like that time when she threatened to beat up the guy who broke your heart, even though he was a high school football player and she was just a skinny 12-year old.

2. To your granddaughter, AKA your little monkey:

…and for not telling Mom and Dad I let you have ice cream before dinner.

3. To your grandson, the adventurer:

Because his vivid imagination and endless enthusiasm are irresistible.

4. To your dog:

…and for being SO excited to see me every time I come home, even though I was only gone for like 15 minutes.

5. To your cat:

When it comes to cuddles, no one does it better.

6. To your one and only:

Because there are too many to count.

7. To your best friend:

Because no one makes you laugh like she does.

8. To your dad:

Whether it’s a math problem or a flat tire, he always knows just what to do.

9. To your mom:

Because she’s your greatest ally, your biggest fan and your best friend.

10. To Grandma:

…and for letting me lick the spoon.

11. To Grandpa:

Because he knows all the best stories.

12. To everyone at the dinner table:

When it comes down to it, nothing matters more than the people we love.

What are you most thankful for this year? Share a toast of your own in the comments! And speaking of gratitude, I’d like to make a toast to you, my readers, for letting me share my thoughts, ideas and recommendations with you. Thank you for reading, and for sharing these posts with your friends and family. Happy Thanksgiving!
