How Will You Celebrate the Year of the Dog?

Chinese New Year is upon us! The 15-day celebration has begun both in China and around the world with family gatherings, delicious food, firecrackers and festivals.

Each year is tied to an animal in the Chinese zodiac, which rotates in a 12-year cycle. 2018 is the Year of the Dog, with previous ones including 1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994 and 2006.

People born in the Year of the Dog are thought to be loyal, kind, friendly, and smart. Winston Churchill, Elvis Presley, Steven Spielberg and Madonna were all born in the Year of the Dog. Interestingly, they have all owned dogs in their lifetime. Coincidence? Definitely!

There’s no denying that dogs are man’s best friend. While this year honors our canine companions, dog lovers will agree that they are worth celebrating every day! The Bradford Exchange offers treasures for dog lovers that are sure to get tails wagging. Scroll down to see some of my favorites and have a happy and healthy Year of the Dog!
