Cat lady and proud? You’re in purr-fect company! I spent a majority of my childhood begging my parents for a pet, but due to my allergies (and my mom’s distain for animals), I never had anything fluffier than a goldfish. Once I graduated college and started living on my own, I adopted my first cat — sweet, scrappy Meatball. At first, I thought I could keep my composure whenever the topic of cats arose, but as the years passed, my love for Meatball has turned me into a full-fledged cat lady at heart. Whether it’s a funny cat video on the Internet or the only four-legged guest at a party, I’m all over it.
Since June is official Adopt-a-Cat Month, I thought I’d take a moment and share some of my favorite cat lady clothes and accessories from The Bradford Exchange with my fellow feline fanatics. And, if you’re a proud cat lady or know someone who is, please share this post!
If you’d like to celebrate cats from head to toe, these canvas sneakers are a great place to start since your kitty will be able to appreciate this feline fashion choice up close and personal. The adorable kitten art from award-winning artist Jürgen Scholz is showcased from every angle and a heart charm with rhinestone encrusted paw print adds a nice touch of cat-titude.
I know firsthand that there’s nothing better than curling up with a good book and a great cat. Imagine being able to carry that feeling with you everywhere you go with this tote bag featuring the heartwarming artwork of renowned Americana artist Charles Wysocki! I love how each of the books has a tongue-in-cheek title, like “The Caterbury Tales” and “A Tale of Two Kitties”.
Even though my kitty fills my vacuum bag with hair, she does indeed fill my heart with love. These sterling silver hoop earrings showcase sculpted kittens and paw prints on the front, plated in gleaming 24K-gold. It’s offered in pierced or non-pierced styles, so everyone can sport their feline flair.
I like to call this the “two fur one” special. This shirt set includes a button-down dark-wash denim shirt with eight embroidered cats on the back and two on the front inspired by Jürgen Scholz’s art, and the matching crew-neck T-shirt showcases a delightful duo of kittens. It’s a work of wearable art!
Not only does the Sophisticat Bracelet have a great name, it has a great look! Colorful enamel brings the charming purr-sonalities of seven different kittens to life and 18K gold-plating and over 120 genuine crystals make this fine jewelry design a real dazzler!
If a real kitten was climbing (read: clawing) up your back like that, it might not be as comfortable as this mid-weight fleece jacket, featuring the kitten art of acclaimed artist Kayomi Harai! Adding some sweetness to the look, the front boasts an apliqueéd kitten and heart-shaped zipper pull features a tiny paw print. Warm and cozy, just like your feline friend!
Cats know how to strike a pose! This 24K gold-plated ring features three individual cat “portraits” in familiar cat poses surrounded by rich blue enamel, and three glittering heart-shaped crystals highlight your fondness for felines in style. Plus, the rich blue enamel makes this fine jewelry design a true blue beauty!
My list may be over, but cat ladies, rejoice! The Bradford Exchange offers a wide selection of treasures for cat lovers including wearable pieces, cat lady gifts and unforgettable kitty tributes for your home including cat lamps, clocks, figurines and more. If you see something you like, pounce on it!
We wouldn’t be cat ladies without the furry friends in our lives, so make sure to give them a shout out in the comments below. And, if you or someone you know is a proud cat lady, please share this post to share the love! Thanks for reading!Cat Lady Looks You'll Want Right Meow by Beth Simon
