A masterful artist and true visionary, Alfred Durante’s designs remain relevant today, as they did when he began his career as a jewelry designer for Cartier over 65 years ago. His unique ability to transcend time by using his artistry to blend the classic with the contemporary is evident in every one of his beautiful designs.
The Bradford Exchange is honored to have shared over 25 years of collaboration with this extraordinary man, showcasing his brilliance to the world. Our hearts are deeply saddened by his passing on February 5, 2022.
And although the idea of a life without Alfred is difficult to imagine, his artistic vision has given us a clear path forward into the future. The Alfred Durante name will live on with his impressive archive of designs, original sketches, and the life stories he shared with us. His amazing talent will continue to serve as an inspiration for the designers who studied under him and is at the heart of our Alfred Durante brand. Each new design will celebrate and honor his life and continue a legacy of timeless works of art to be cherished for generations.
